If you can tear yourself away from Albania's beaches, Tirana and its surroundings hold plenty to fill a few days.
The Cloud - Reja This steel rod installation by Sou Fujimoto was originally featured in London’s Hyde Park but now has a permanent home in Tirana. In summer, it’s even used as a stage for theatre, art, and music productions.
Wander Blloku. Once off-limits to ordinary Tirana residents, Blloku is now the city’s café-and-boutique quarter — good for aimless wandering by day and quiet drinks by night.
Ride the Dajti Ekspres cable car. A short drive from the center, this cable car climbs Mount Dajti for panoramic views over Tirana and the surrounding valley — a good half-day trip, especially on a clear afternoon.
Skanderbeg Square & the museums around it. The city's central square anchors a cluster of museums and galleries — an easy starting point for exploring Tirana on foot.
Grand Park & the Lake of Tirana. For a slower pace, the paths around the Lake of Tirana and the Grand Park are popular for an evening walk or run, away from the traffic of the center.
